Victor Osimhen’s Chelsea Ambitions: Troost-Ekong Confirms Striker’s Dreams

Victor Osimhen, one of Africa’s top football talents, has a strong desire to play for Chelsea, according to Nigerian teammate William Troost-Ekong.

Speaking in a recent interview with talkSPORT, Troost-Ekong revealed that the prolific forward has been a lifelong fan of the English club and remains hopeful of joining the Blues in the future.

“I can tell you he’s a Chelsea fan, I can confirm that,” Troost-Ekong stated, shedding light on the striker’s admiration for the Premier League side.

Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish champions Galatasaray, was previously linked with a move to Chelsea during the summer transfer window. However, negotiations ultimately fell through, leaving the transfer incomplete.

In the interview, Troost-Ekong also commended Osimhen’s qualities both on and off the pitch, describing him as a key asset to any team. Talking about his goal-scoring instincts and leadership skills, Troost-Ekong noted, “He’s a great teammate. In front of goal, he can be very greedy, but he’s someone who speaks up for the team in the changing room. He’s a real leader, and I’m sure he’ll be captain soon.”

The defender reflected on Osimhen’s impressive debut for the Nigerian national team in 2019, when he emerged as a promising understudy to Odion Ighalo. “During the training, we were so impressed.”

While Paris Saint-Germain reportedly has plans to pursue Osimhen in the upcoming January transfer window, Chelsea remains a plausible destination for the Nigerian star. The Blues, who have shown steady progress this season, may benefit from the addition of a clinical striker like Osimhen.

Osimhen’s admiration for Chelsea and his reputation as one of Africa’s brightest footballing talents could make a move to West London a perfect match.
