Trump Starts Second Term by Firing Biden Officials

In a decisive move on his first day back in office, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the dismissal of four senior officials appointed by his predecessor, Joe Biden, signaling a broader effort to reshape the federal administration.

The terminations were communicated via Trump’s post on the social media platform Truth Social late Monday.

“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again,” Trump declared.

The officials dismissed include:

José Andrés, a renowned chef and humanitarian, removed from the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition.

Mark Milley, former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, ousted from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council.

Brian Hook, previously the State Department’s special envoy for Iran, dismissed from the Wilson Center for Scholars.

Keisha Lance Bottoms, former mayor of Atlanta, removed from the President’s Export Council.

Trump concluded his announcement with his signature phrase, YOU’RE FIRED!

This action is part of a larger initiative by President Trump to remove individuals from the previous administration whom he perceives as not aligning with his Make America Great Again agenda.

The President’s Personnel Office is reportedly in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand such appointees.

The move has drawn comparisons to actions taken by President Biden in 2021, when he removed 18 Trump-appointed members from U.S. military academy advisory boards, including high-profile figures such as Kellyanne Conway and Sean Spicer.
