Tragedy struck in Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday night as suspected phone thieves ambushed and stabbed a young man, Dabit Jesse Longji, to death.

The incident happened while Jesse was on his way to the Plateau State Crossover event held at the Secretariat flyover.

The joyous atmosphere of the Crossover event turned grim when news broke of Jesse’s ambush. According to close friends and family, the assailants not only stole his phone but also left him critically injured after stabbing him multiple times.

An eyewitness described the moment they found Jesse unconscious at the British America axis, lying in a pool of blood.

Following the attack, concerned individuals rushed Jesse to a nearby hospital in an attempt to save his life.
