Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.
This was after the Ogun State Police Command declared him wanted in connection with an alleged assault on government officials.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed Portable’s surrender and stated that Ogun State Police have been notified to take him into custody.
Earlier, Portable had claimed to be receiving psychiatric treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta, following the police’s declaration of him as wanted.
However, the Ogun State Police dismissed these claims, insisting that the singer must report himself for investigation.
The police had declared Portable wanted after an alleged violent confrontation with officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development during an enforcement exercise in Ota.
While nine of his associates were arrested, Portable reportedly fled the scene and had been in hiding until his recent surrender.
