RMD Praises Timini Egbuson's 'Reel Love' Success

Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) sings praise of his younger colleague, Timini Egbuson, for the remarkable success of his film ‘Reel Love’.

The romantic drama, which premiered on February 14, 2025, has grossed over ₦99 million at the box office in its opening weekend.

In a Facebook post on Monday, RMD referred to Timini as “probably the hardest-working and most uber-talented young actor in Africa today.”

He further expressed pride in Timini’s achievements, noting the impressive box office earnings of ‘Reel Love’.

‘Reel Love’ delves into the complexities of modern relationships and the influence of social media on romance.

The film features a stellar cast, including Funke Akindele, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, TJ Omusuku, Atlanta Bridget Johnson, Jay On Air, Hermes Iyele, Bimbo Ademoye, and Timini Egbuson himself.

Timini also took to Instagram to celebrate the film’s success, attributing it to the unwavering support of fans.

He wrote, “Little drops of water make a mighty ocean, and every single one of YOU has been a part of this incredible wave! ‘Reel Love’ has shattered records at the box office, and it’s all thanks to your unwavering support.”

While celebrating the movie’s success, netizens have pointed out the impact of Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele.

Known for her box office magic, Funke not only played a major role in the film but also helped push its visibility.

Her name alone draws attention, and her experience in filmmaking added to the quality of Reel Love, making it a must-watch for fans.

‘Reel Love’ is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
