In response to the escalating violence in Yelwata and Daudu, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) evacuated corps members serving in those areas to safer locations in Makurdi.
State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Veronica Garba, said on Thursday that the relocation was carried out with assistance from the police.
The evacuated members are now housed in family lodges operated by the Nigeria Corpers Christian Fellowship, the National Association of Catholic Corps Members, and the Muslim Corpers Association of Nigeria.
“All corps members have been accounted for and are safe,” Garba said, adding that they will remain in Makurdi until peace is restored.
