In June 2025, the Nigerian Air Force, operating under Operation HADIN KAI, destroyed an improvised explosive device factory and multiple armed vehicles in Kwaltiri, within the Tumbuktu Triangle, killing dozens of terrorists.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the NAF spokesperson, said the strike followed intelligence reports of terrorist activity in the area.
Surveillance aircraft confirmed the presence of an IED-making site and several gun trucks, which were then engaged in precision airstrikes.
“The operation is a major blow to terrorists’ fighting capabilities, as the successful strikes not only disrupted their command and control as well as logistics chains but also sent shockwaves through their ranks, significantly degrading their morale and operational momentum,” the statement read.
