Manchester City are keeping close tabs on young Uzbek defender Abdukodir Khusanov, with talks already happening between the club and RC Lens. The 20-year-old has impressed since joining Lens in July 2023 for a small fee of about €100,000. He’s become a regular starter for the French side and has caught the eye of several top European clubs.
Sources say Man City have reached out to both the player and his club to explore a January deal. Lens might be willing to sell if the price is right, with Khusanov reportedly valued at around £20 million. The player himself seems ready to take a big step in his career by joining a top team.
Man City aren’t the only ones interested though. Tottenham Hotspur and other Premier League teams are also keeping an eye on Khusanov, but City’s early interest might give them an edge in the race.
Pep Guardiola, Man City’s manager, has been clear that they need smart transfers to strengthen the team. He’s looking for players who can make a real difference, not just fill spots in the squad. With Khusanov’s talent and potential, he could fit perfectly into their plans.
The next few weeks will be key in deciding where Khusanov ends up. If Man City act fast, they might just beat their rivals to the promising young defender.
