Lagos Politician Senator Ganiyu Solomon Celebrates 65th Birthday in Grand Style

Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon, a well-respected Lagos politician, recently marked his 65th birthday with a grand celebration that drew top political figures from across Lagos and beyond. The event, held at the High Point Event Centre and Suites in Ikeja, was both a prayer session and a tribute to Solomon’s enduring influence in Nigerian politics.

Known for his grassroots mobilization and leadership skills, Solomon’s political career spans over two decades.

From his time as Chairman of Mushin Local Government Council to serving as Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, he has consistently demonstrated dedication to public service and a deep connection with the people.

Prominent attendees included former governors, deputy governors, senators, and members of the House of Representatives. Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, referred to Solomon as “Egbon mi” (my elder brother), emphasizing their close relationship. Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, also praised Solomon for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and his steadfastness in politics.

Senator Solomon, popularly known as GOS, comes from a lineage of political leaders. His father, Alhaji Rafiu Solomon, was a prominent political figure in Lagos and a contemporary of late Governor Lateef Jakande. Building on this legacy, Solomon has carved his own path, earning respect through his achievements and commitment to governance.

As a senator, Solomon served as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Capital Market and Minority Whip, sponsoring key bills like the Whistleblowers Protection Bill, Cancer Research and Treatment Centre Bill, and the Elderly Centre Bill. His efforts reflect his dedication to addressing critical issues affecting Nigerians.
