Kwara Police Arrest Notorious Kidnapper "Dandolo"

The Kwara State Police Command has announced the arrest of a suspected kidnapper, Mohammed Bello, widely known as “Dandolo.” The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued in Ilorin on Thursday by DSP Ejire Adeyemi Toun, the command’s spokesperson.

According to the statement, actionable intelligence from Egbe, Kogi State, revealed that the suspect had fled to Patigi, Kwara State, to evade capture. Acting on this information, a surveillance team was deployed to track his movements. After an exhaustive search of several locations, including hotels in Patigi, Bello was eventually apprehended at an undisclosed location.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base (FOB) in Egbe, Kogi State, led by Lieutenant Isah. Following his capture, Bello was transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Ilorin for further investigation.

The police revealed that Bello has confessed to orchestrating multiple kidnapping operations, including along the Omu-Aran-Ilofa-Osi-Eruku-Egbe road in Kwara State and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, assured residents of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served. He reiterated the command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property in Kwara State and neighboring regions.
