Rivers State is filled with excitement as Governor Siminalayi Fubara prepares to inaugurate the 43rd Federation of Public Service Games (FEPSGA).
The grand opening ceremony is set for 12:00 p.m. today at Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt, promising a spectacle that will draw notable figures from across Nigeria, including federal government officials.
In a statement issued by Joe Johnson, the State Commissioner for Information and Communications, it was revealed that over 8,000 athletes from 80 federal Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), along with Team Rivers, are participating in the games. The competition, already underway, has seen an impressive level of intensity, reflecting the spirit of camaraderie and athletic excellence.
Governor Fubara will preside over the ceremonial march past, taking salutes from the diverse range of participating teams, further emphasizing the state’s commitment to promoting sportsmanship and unity. The games are spread across various venues, including Sharks Stadium, the Civic Centre, Port Harcourt Club 1928, and the University of Port Harcourt, showcasing the city’s robust infrastructure for hosting large-scale events.
