Abbas Sani Abbas, the former Commissioner for Rural and Community Development in Kano State, has officially left the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abbas announced his defection to the APC on Friday night during a visit to the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, at his residence in Kano State. The former commissioner pledged his support to the APC, vowing to contribute to the party’s success in Kano and across Nigeria.
This move comes a month after Abbas, along with the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Bichi, and four other commissioners, was dismissed by Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf in December 2024.
Speaking during the visit, the Deputy Senate President welcomed Abbas to the ruling party, emphasizing APC’s dedication to good governance, inclusivity, and service to the people.
He expressed confidence that the party’s values would help create a better future for Kano State and the nation.
