Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have taken Mkor Aondona, Special Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Documentation, Research, and Planning, into custody. The Makurdi Zonal Directorate of the EFCC confirmed the arrest on its official social media channels.
Aondona was detained Friday following a petition from several female students. The women allege that the adviser routinely recruited “slim and attractive” young women for ushering roles at official events and then demanded sexual favours in exchange for the positions.
According to the petitioners, Aondona secretly recorded intimate encounters without the women’s consent. He is accused of using these recordings to threaten the students, insisting they continue the sexual relationship or face public exposure. Some of the explicit videos are said to be circulating on various messaging platforms.
In its statement, the EFCC noted that the allegations constitute “sextortion” and cyberbullying. Investigators are gathering further evidence before file preparation. Authorities say the suspect will soon be charged in court.
Benue State Government officials have yet to comment. The EFCC has urged anyone with additional information or further complaints related to the case to come forward.
