Davido Introduces Electric Bike Line in Africa

Nigerian musician Davido just revealed his own line of electric bikes across Africa, in partnership with Spiro, a leading electric vehicle company on the continent. This initiative aims to support motorcycle riders and promote eco-friendly transportation.

Announcing the venture on Instagram, Davido emphasized that this project has been in development for years.

“Manifestation is spiritual. Years ago, I claimed 30 BG, but it wasn’t just about success, it was about purpose. Today, I’m transforming that vision into something bigger: generational wealth and ownership. With my own line of electric bikes, in partnership with Spiro, we’re not just building a product, we’re building a movement.”

The electric bikes are designed to offer a solution tailored for Africa’s transportation needs. Davido highlighted the importance of creating homegrown solutions, saying:

“This isn’t just about business, it’s about creating a Made in Africa solution for Africa.” He also noted the significant role motorcycle riders, known locally as Okada riders, have played in his career and sees this partnership as a way to give back.

“These same Okada drivers, who have supported me throughout my career, are now at the centre of this vision. They moved my music, my name, and my story across every corner of Nigeria and Africa. Now it’s time to give back.”

Spiro, is known as Africa’s largest electric vehicle company, has deployed over 22,000 electric motorbikes across multiple countries, including Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana.

The company focuses on providing innovative, eco-friendly, and affordable electric transportation solutions to transform urban mobility and reduce carbon emissions.

The African motorcycle market is substantial, with over 27 million motorcycles in use. Davido’s venture aims to provide financing solutions for riders across Nigeria and Africa, empowering individuals who are vital to the economy.
