Al Nassr announced on Thursday that Portuguese forward Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a new two-year contract with the Saudi Pro League club.
Ronaldo joined Al Nassr in late 2022 as a free agent following his departure from Manchester United. Since arriving shortly after the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar on an initial two-and-a-half-year deal, he has scored 93 goals in 105 appearances across all competitions for the Riyadh-based side.
His move to Saudi Arabia made him the highest-paid athlete globally, a position he has maintained for the past three years according to Forbes, with estimated total earnings around $275 million.
Ronaldo recently captained Portugal to victory in the UEFA Nations League final against Spain. He also continues to pursue the milestone of 1,000 career goals, having currently scored 794 for clubs and 138 for Portugal, totaling 932.
His high-profile transfer to Al Nassr preceded moves by several other prominent European-based players to the Saudi Pro League, including his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema.
