Nigerian forward Samuel Chukwueze is expected to feature prominently in AC Milan’s lineup for their UEFA Champions League game against Slovakian side Slovan Bratislava on Tuesday.
Since his transfer from Villarreal last year, Chukwueze has faced challenges in securing a consistent starting role at the Serie A club. The 25-year-old forward has struggled to replicate the form that saw him excel in Spain. Last season, he scored three goals and provided three assists in 33 appearances, predominantly as a substitute.
This season, his numbers have been modest. In 16 appearances across all competitions, Chukwueze has managed just one goal and one assist. His participation in the UEFA Champions League has been limited to two substitute appearances.
Despite his limited involvement so far, the tide seems to be turning. Reports suggest that Chukwueze will start against Slovan Bratislava, offering him a chance to make a significant impact in one of Europe’s most prestigious tournaments. This could serve as a platform for the Nigerian international to assert his value to the Rossoneri.
For AC Milan, the match against Slovan Bratislava represents an opportunity to solidify their position in the Champions League group stage. For Chukwueze, it’s a chance to prove his worth and potentially cement a more regular role in the squad.
