Nigerian music star Burna Boy with the real name Damini Ogulu, has made it clear he has no interest in podcast interviews, expressing a lack of professionalism among many hosts.
He expressed his willingness to sit down with media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu for a conversation.
Taking to his Instagram story, Burna Boy explained his stance:
“I no dey for all those podcast/ringlight level abeg. I be professional for my profession, na only professional for him own profession dey qualified to interview ODG.”
He added that while he generally avoids interviews, he would consider one with Ebuka to discuss recent events.
“Ebuka still dey do all those interview? I no like interview at all but I go like run 1.”
Burna Boy also used his Instagram story to address misconceptions about his persona and legacy. Rejecting comparisons to Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, he declared:
“All that Burna Boy and Fela talk needs to die now. I’m not Fela, I’m BIG7. I’m all about positivity, peace, and prosperity.”
In a bolder statement, he said:
“Honestly, I’d rather kill you than die for you.”
