Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy has pledged to help Hellen Ati, a Kenyan woman who claims to have a child with Nigerian businessman Cubana Chief Priest.
This decision came after Hellen’s emotional plea on social media, where she detailed her struggles with unpaid rent, feeding, and her son’s inability to attend school.
Hellen’s post, addressed to Cubana Chief Priest, stated:
“Dear Chiefpriest, children are blessings from above, regardless of being born out of wedlock. Hellen and your son are suffering severely. The landlord wants to evict them, and feeding is by grace. Please help your son and give him a better life like his siblings.”
Her appeal went viral, catching the attention of Burna Boy, who quickly responded. The singer tasked Nigerian content creator Lucky Udu to locate Hellen and help arrange her relocation to Nigeria. Burna also promised to provide Hellen with a job and enroll the child in a football academy and school.
Less than an hour after Burna’s intervention, Lucky Udu confirmed that he had a video call with Hellen, who expressed gratitude for the support.
Netizens commended Burna Boy’s swift action, others criticized him for using the gesture to taunt Cubana Chief Priest amidst their ongoing feud.
Critics also mentioned unfulfilled promises Burna allegedly made to individuals at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital during the filming of his “Higher” music video.
Cubana Chief Priest, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, appeared to address the situation in a cryptic Instagram post. Without naming Burna Boy.
He wrote, “enroute Airport Our Alleged Family Is Coming From Kenya Courtesy African Princess, Person Wey Him Thing No Dey Work Don See Opportunity To Get Pikin Oh. God Is Good😂 Shebi Na You Talk Say We Be Bloodline, Osubrileeee Oh.”
