Paris Fashion Week started on Monday with new designers set to make their first appearances at top brands like Givenchy, Dries Van Noten, and Tom Ford.
Over 100 fashion houses will showcase their Fall-Winter 2025-2026 collections in the next eight days, hoping to boost sales despite the tough luxury market.
One of the biggest highlights is Sarah Burton’s debut at Givenchy on Friday. Burton, who worked at Alexander McQueen before, joined Givenchy last September.
Belgian designer Julian Klausner will also show his first collection for Dries Van Noten on Wednesday after the brand’s founder stepped down last year.
Tom Ford’s new chief designer, Haider Ackermann, will make his catwalk debut too the first time the brand is showing in Paris instead of New York.
Big names like Louis Vuitton, Dior, Saint Laurent, and Chanel will close out the week with their high-budget shows. Rumors say it might be the last show for Dior’s head designer Maria Grazia Chiuri.
The luxury fashion industry is facing hard times, with profits falling. Brands like Gucci and Kering have seen sales drop, while Prada might be buying Versace for about 1.5 billion euros, according to reports.
