Popular media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has stepped down from The Honest Bunch podcast after facing backlash and accusations.
His exit follows claims by social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who accused Nedu of trying to bribe him to appear on the show.
The allegation stirred controversy among netizens with many demanding Nedu’s response.
In an Instagram post, Nedu denied the claims, calling them baseless. He explained that leaving the podcast was a tough decision but necessary for his peace of mind, family, and the show’s reputation.
“The past week has made me think deeply. Hosting The Honest Bunch has been an amazing journey, but the scrutiny, attacks, and false accusations have been overwhelming,” he wrote.
He hoped his exit would end the controversy and allow the podcast to grow, thanking his supporters and wishing the show success.
Meanwhile, Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede, whose name has been dragged into the podcast drama, has made it clear she wants no part in it.
Jegede recalled how she faced online trolling after appearing on the show. She said promotional clips from her episode were edited in a way that attracted negativity.
According to her, Nedu was also posting content that fueled the attacks, while at the same time sending her private messages.
She also denied claims that she paid to be featured, stating she wouldn’t have done that for a movie she didn’t produce or own.
Despite her bad experience, Jegede said she has forgiven Nedu and the podcast team. She added that while some have urged her to speak out against Nedu now that he’s facing criticism, she refuses to do so.
“I have received calls asking me to speak out or troll him now that he is supposedly down,” she wrote. “My response remains the same I will not. The best time to kick a man is certainly not when he is down.”
She concluded by asking people to stop dragging her into the matter, saying she has learned her lessons and hopes Nedu does too.
