Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Baba, 2Face has disowned a recent Instagram post that falsely announced his separation from his wife, actress Annie Idibia.

The now debunked message claimed that the couple had separated after 13 years of marriage and hinted at an impending press release to clarify the situation.

Addressing the misinformation, 2Baba explained that his Instagram account had been compromised. He stated, “My Instagram account has been hacked, efforts are being carried out to take back control.

This is not the first time the couple has faced public scrutiny over their relationship. In May 2022, there were rumors of their marital status that reported Annie had unfollowed 2Baba on Instagram.

Annie promptly addressed the rumor, attributing the incident to a technical glitch on the platform. She addressed it with a post: “Jesu ooo. Na so una like bad news tire! Na wa o. Simple Instagram glitch, una don create story. Nigerian bloggers, I hail.”

2Baba also responded to the rumors at that time, telling the public to respect their privacy. He shared his frustration, saying, “Una too like to dey bully people for this social media, I no really understand. Make una just leave my wife alone. Abeg, leave my wife alone.”

In March 2022, they renewed their marital vows in a private ceremony to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary.

Annie shared the news on Instagram, writing, “Yes fam, a guy (2Baba) and I renewed our vows. 10 years anniversary! It was very intimate but we wanted to also share it with the whole world.”

As of now, efforts are ongoing to restore 2Baba’s Instagram account. The couple has not announced any plans for a press release concerning the incident.
