Senator Shehu Sani has expressed optimism about President Bola Tinubu’s recent international engagements, stating tangible economic benefits for the country.
Taking to his X account on Monday, the former federal lawmaker praised Tinubu’s visits to nations such as Saudi Arabia, Brazil, France, China, and South Africa. According to Sani, these diplomatic efforts have yielded “verifiable and practical economic gains” for Nigeria, setting them apart from the fruitless travel patterns of previous administrations.
Sani singled out Brazil’s recent $4.2 billion grant to boost Nigerian agriculture as a significant milestone. He emphasized that the funds, earmarked for distribution across local governments, represent a transformative step for the country’s agricultural sector.
“The history of Presidential foreign travels in this country has been infamously known to be wasteful. There is an evidently notable difference this time around,” Sani wrote. He went on to underscore the importance of returning from such trips with substantial benefits: “To travel and come back with something huge is ok; to travel and come back with nothing is not ok.”
