Pelumi Olajengbesi, Esq., a Nigerian lawyer, shared a story about the challenges of matrimonial cases and the emotional toll they often bring.

Writing on Instagram, Olajengbesi reflected on his experiences and a particularly moving encounter with a woman seeking to end her marriage.

Olajengbesi noted that although family law is not his specialty, he has handled over 34 marriage dissolutions throughout his career.

“Some proceedings were like battlefields, full of anger and hurt, others ended peacefully, with both sides showing mutual respect. Each case is unique, but they all reveal the deep emotions tied to marriages.”

As the year came to an end, a referral from a friend brought a woman to Olajengbesi’s office.

“She came in emotionally drained, tears streamed down her face as she told her story. The pain in her words was clear, and the scars on her body made it even more horrifying, he said.”

According to Olajengbesi, her marriage had been nothing short of a nightmare.

“She has obviously been in bed with the devil himself,” he added

After listening to her story, he decided to take on the case. But, his professional fees were significantly high (₦25 million), which left her stunned.
