Nigerian comedian AY Makun has addressed criticism surrounding his rumored absence at the burial ceremony of his estranged wife Mabel’s mother, Mrs. Rose Temietan Eyesan Nwanegbu.
The event was held in Ikoyi, Lagos. Family, friends, and notable personalities were present to honor her life.
Speculation about AY’s attendance began when no images or videos surfaced online showing him at the ceremony. This sparked backlash on social media, with many accusing him of skipping the occasion.
In response, AY shared a photo on Instagram of himself and his brother dressed in black outfits and sunglasses, hinting that he may have attended the burial discreetly.
He captioned the post with a simple message:
